Keto Brown Sugar Bacon

Keto Brown Sugar Bacon

Keto Brown Sugar Bacon. If you are on a Keto diet, bacon is life. When I call a recipe “brown sugar” and “sugar free” you’re probably thinking that I’m making no sense but it’s possible to have your candied bacon and this is Keto world and eat it too! OK, not funny – I tried!

You have missed out on one of the best flavors in the world if you’ve never put brown sugar on bacon. It’s so good you’ll think there’s trickery involved. Nothing can be THIS good. You won’t eat bacon plain again once you try it. And just because you’re low carb living, you don’t want to miss out on this.

Using a Sugar Free Bacon

You can find it at Ald. Did you know many bacons have sugar in it? You have to read labels and look for hidden sugars as always on the Keto diet.

Swerve Brown Sugar

Swerve changed my life. Although some people have said it does to them and they prefer other options but I can get the taste of real sugar – to me there’s no aftertaste like stevia/monkfruit. Swerve, a all natural sweetener is erythritol.

In the oven, I bake my bacon and you should try that method if you haven’t! I’ve baked it on a baking rack and on foil.

As regular brown sugar, the texture of the Swerve is the same, so you’ll find it spreads on the bacon in clumps. That’s OK. It bakes fine! You can season to taste as you don’t need much. Add more, if you like more. And since they shrivel up, you can place your bacon slices close together. Mine above are too far apart.

In the oven, I bake my bacon. At 350 degrees, it takes about TWENTY minutes for most brands. You may want to cook it for a few more minutes if your bacon is thicker. When it’s done, you’ll know by the look. And it’s going to rock your world. Trickery, I tell you! It’s not of this world. Anytime of the day or night snack.

Ingredients

  • (we prefer Appleton Farms from Aldi)1 lb sugar free bacon
  • 1/2 cup Erythritol

Instructions

  1. On a baking pan lined with aluminum foil, lay strips of bacon.
  2. Lay them close together – there’s plenty of room because they will shrink up.
  3. Lightly spread / sprinkle on each strip, the Swerve brown sugar.
  4. For TWENTY minutes, bake at 350 degrees (for thick bacon, a few minutes longer).
