These are essentially wontons stuffed with a mixture of spices, cream cheese, and crab. And they are so good!

Ingredients

For the Wontons

  • ▢1 3/4 cups almond flour
  • ▢1/4 cup coconut flour
  • ▢3/4 teaspoon salt
  • ▢1 egg
  • ▢1/4 cup water

For the Filling

  • ▢6 oz. softened cream cheese
  • ▢1 tablespoon chopped scallions
  • ▢4 oz. crab meat
  • ▢1/4 teaspoon salt
  • ▢1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ▢1 1/2 teaspoons coconut aminos
  • ▢1 cup refined coconut oil

For the Sauce

  • ▢2 tablespoons Thai Chili Garlic Sauce
  • ▢3 tablespoons sugar-free apricot preserves
  • ▢2 tablespoons water

Instructions

For the Wonton

  1. Take a bowl and mix the flours and salt together in it.
  2. Take a bowl and whisk the water and egg together.
  3. In your dry ingredients, make a well and pour the wet ingredients in.
  4. By using a fork, incorporate all the ingredients until dough formation. If necessary, put little bit more water . The dough should have a same consistency to play-dough.
  5. In between two layers of parchment paper, roll out your dough very thin. Should be almost transparent.
  6. Cut out 2.5” x 2.5” squares by a knife.
  7. Keep cutting more squares ,gathering excess dough and rolling it out again. You should end up with about twenty squares.

For the Filling

  1. Mix all the ingredients together.
  2. Onto each square, place about two teaspoons of filling. To form a triangle shape, fold the dough in half and by pressing lightly, seal the edges.
  3. In a sturdy pan, heat 1/3 inch of the oil to 360°F on stovetop.
  4. Place the wontons in the hot oil, once the oil reaches 360°F and fry on both sides until it turns golden brown.
  5. To a wire rack, transfer to cool slightly.

For the Sauce

  1. Take a bowl and mix all the ingredients in it and microwave for about thirty secs until into the Thai chili garlic sauce, the preserves get fully incorporated. Or in a saucepan, you can heat all the ingredients, stirring until it gets well combined.
