For canned shrimp, can I substitute fresh shrimp?

Yes, you can use frozen/fresh cooked shrimp. Make sure to chop them as it’s easier to serve on veggies or crackers if the shrimp are on the larger side.

Can I make this appetizer ahead of time?

Yes! it only takes 3 minutes so you can make this appetizer up ahead of time, so I usually just make when I’m ready to serve it.

Cover and refrigerate if you do make this ahead of time. So the cream cheese is softened, remove about THIRTY minutes before serving.

How long will this appetizer keep?

To 4 days, this appetizer will keep up.

Ingredients

  • 10 oz cocktail sauce/1 recipe of our sugar-free sauce: cocktail sauce
  • (or, diced cooked frozen or fresh shrimp) 1 (6 oz) can tiny shrimp
  • at room temperature, 8 oz block of cream cheese,

Instructions

  1. In a dish, lay room temperature cream cheese. You can leave it as is, or spread it out slightly.
  2. Over the top of cream cheese, pour cocktail sauce, then top with shrimp. You can garnish with some pepper, parsley, and dill.
