INGREDIENT NOTES:
WHOLE-WHEAT FLOUR:
- Utilize the whole-wheat flour to make this stuffed bread. It will provide more fiber and a hearty texture to the dough. We have to combine it with all-purpose flour so the bread will be easier to roll and shape.
ACTIVE DRY YEAST:
- Include the active dry yeast to help the dough rise nicely and provide a soft texture. We have to combine it with warm water and honey so it activates properly.
FRESH SPINACH:
- Add the fresh spinach to prepare the filling. It will provide vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidant compounds to the bread. We have to cook it until wilted and remove excess moisture so the bread does not become soggy.
FETA CHEESE:
- Add the crumbled feta cheese to provide a creamy texture and tangy flavor in the filling. We would also utilize reduced-sodium feta instead if required to lower the sodium content. Utilize the plant-based feta cheese instead if you have a dairy allergy.
