A keto smoothie with bananas? I mean, really! Without the addition of carbohydrates, this Keto Banana Smoothie truly tastes like a banana. With the inclusion of (almost imperceptible!) baby spinach, it also packs a nutritious vegetable punch. If you’re not in the mood for a green smoothie, you can eliminate the spinach.

Along with pineapple and mango, banana is one of my favorite high-carb fruits, and it was one of the first fruits I missed while on the keto diet. But with the help of banana extract, I was able to create a smoothie without the excess carbs and still get the delicious banana flavor! ???? This smoothie is elevated to the next level for the ultimate smoothie experience with a drizzle of peanut butter on top.

If you want a conventional keto banana smoothie, you are welcome to leave the baby spinach out. Regardless of whether you prefer it with or without the baby spinach, you’ll adore include this smoothie in your regular keto menu!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of vanilla almond milk without sugar
  • Frozen baby spinach, 1 1/2 cups
  • 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder from Equip
  • MCT oil, 1 tbsp
  • 1/2 teaspoon of banana essence
  • Xanthan gum, 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Blend(blender) all ingredients until they are completely smooth.
  2. Add a few ice cubes to the smoothie if it isn’t cold enough; don’t add too many or the flavour will be lost.
  3. Add 1 teaspoon of melted unsweetened peanut butter on top before serving.

Notes \Variations:

Baby spinach is practically invisible in the smoothie, but you can skip it if you like.
Protein Powder-Free: To make a smoothie without protein powder, combine 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract with a small amount of a keto-friendly sweetener (if you use a sweetener like erythritol or Swerve, 2 tbsp is a good starting point). Add a little bit more xanthan gum if the outcome is too thin.
