EQUIPMENT:

  • Large skillet
  • 9×13-inch baking dish
  • Wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Aluminum foil
  • Spatula

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 tbsp. neutral oil
  • 1 package cremini mushrooms
  • Two tsp. dried oregano
  • ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce — lower-sodium
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup basil
  • 1 package refrigerated spinach ravioli
  • 1½ cups mozzarella cheese

INGREDIENT NOTES:

CREMINI MUSHROOMS:

  • Add the cremini mushrooms to include the savory & meaty texture & flavor. Cook the mushrooms to eliminate the moisture content, and they get lightly browned.

OREGANO:

  • Add the dried oregano to include the classic Italian taste in the marinara sauce. The oregano will pair nicely with cheese & mushrooms.

MARINARA SAUCE:

  • Add the low sodium containing sauce to include the indulgent tomato foundation to make the lasagna. IT can be chunky or smooth, as we like.

SPINACH RAVIOLI:

  • Utilize the refrigerated spinach ravioli to form the pasta layers and don’t prepare the real lasagna noodles.

MOZZARELLA CHEESE:

  • Include the mozzarella cheese, shredded, to form the cheesy & creamy topping. We have to shred the cheese fresh, so it melts evenly on the ravioli layers.

FRESH BASIL:

  • Add the fresh basil to add the herbaceous taste, and sprinkle some before baking and some after, before serving.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Heat the oven to 190 °C and lightly apply the oil on pan.
  2. Add the oil to the large pan & warm it on medium flame.
  3. Add the cremini mushrooms and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, till it gets soft & brown lightly browned.
  4. Add the seasonings and herbs & cook for thirty seconds till it gets aromatic.
  5. Include the water & marinara sauce in the pan & mix properly, and wait for it to simmer gently and cook for three to four minutes.
  6. Put the pan on the shelf and mix in the fresh basil.
  7. Add a small quantity of mushrooms & marinara sauce to the bottom of the pan.
  8. Put the spinach ravioli in one layer evenly on the sauce, add the remaining sauce over the ravioli & sprinkle the mozzarella on top.
  9. Now fill the tray with the same sequence, add the cheese on top, and cover the dish with aluminum foil.
  10. Bake the lasagna for twenty minutes, then remove the foil and bake for ten to fifteen minutes till the cheese melts.
  11. Leave the ravioli lasagna for 5-10 minutes, then serve.
  12. Sprinkle the basil on top & serve hot.
