Keto steak fajita is the ultimate easy meal. For this, we don’t need any fancy ingredients. We can prepare this tempting recipe with a few basic ingredients. It is a friendly keto recipe that is delightful and easy to make. It is a one-pot recipe that is ready in 30 minutes and we can enjoy this delightful and low-carb steak fajita with Cauliflower rice, keto tortillas, and cilantro lime. We also used homemade fajita seasoning in this recipe to make it more tempting and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Pound skirt steak – But we can also use other steak cuts like ribeye, New York Strip, and Tenderloin to make the steak more flavorful and delicious.
  • 6 medium bell peppers
  • 1 medium Onion cut into thin slices
  • Chopped garlic 1 tbsp
  • Salt ( according to the taste)
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves, crushed leaves for better flavor
  • Unsalted Butter 1-2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Homemade Fajita Seasoning.

 

For the homemade Fajita seasoning, we need ingredients

  • Chili Powder 2 tbsp
  • Cumin 1 tbsp
  • Chopped garlic 1 tbsp
  • Onion powder 1 tbsp
  • Paprika Powder 1 tbsp
  • Salt 1/2 or according to the taste
  • Black Pepper 1/4 tbsp or according to the taste

Instructions:

  1. Firstly, we will marinate the steak. For marinade, we will take a lemon and then cut it into 2 pieces, and squeeze juice.
  2. Peel garlic cloves and chopped roughly.
  3. Take a medium-sized onion and cut it into a cube or ring shape.
  4. After that, we will take skirt steak and place it into a zipper bag.
  5. We will add a few drops of oil and lemon juice to the steak.
  6. Add chopped garlic and sliced onions to both sides of the bag and seal the bag.
  7. After that, we used meat mallets, or pounders, to mash the ingredients so that the ingredients were evenly distributed.
  8. We will refrigerate the marinated steak for 2-3 hours before cooking.
  9. After marinating the steak, we will cut the bell peppers into slices.
  10. We will use red, green, and orange bell peppers to make the dish more appealing and colorful.
  11. We will put sliced bell peppers into a large bowl and add leftover crushed onions from the marinade.
  12. Pour a few drops of olive oil over the onions and sliced peppers and toss to coat.

Preparation

  1. Firstly, we will preheat the grill.
  2. Remove the steak from the fajita marinade and dry it with paper towels so it won’t burn on the grill.
  3. With the help of a brush, we will grease the steak from both sides and add salt and black pepper over it according to your taste.
  4. Grill the steak. and let the meat cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
  5. Preheat an iron pan. Add unsalted butter and in this, we will add onions and cook it until it’s not browned.
  6. With the help of tongs, we will cook both sides of the onion.
  7. Shift brown onions onto the serving plate. Add other vegetables and cook it for 1-2 minutes.
  8. In this, we will add the reserved fajita seasoning with vegetables and stir to combine everything.
  9. When the steak cools, we will slice the Fajita Steak straight down through the top and serve it with roasted bell peppers and onions.
