Keto Wonder Bread Chaffle Recipe
I love the Keto Wonder Bread Chaffle Recipe so to see which version is the best, I decided to do a bit of testing in my kitchen today! When you compare the two, there are a few differences and I am happy to share them with you.
I’m going to include both that I use, versions of this recipe.
Here’s another helpful tip. You can substitute the same exact amount of sour cream if you don’t have Dukes Mayo on hand and the recipe comes out the same!
Wonder Bread Chaffle Recipe using Almond Flour
Ingredients:
- 1 Tablespoons Almond Flour
- ONE Teaspoon Water
- 1 Tablespoon Dukes Mayonnaise
- 1/8 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 egg
Pinch of pink Himalayan salt
Instructions:
- In a bowl(small), mix all ingredients together. Into a mini dash waffle maker, pour half the batter and for about 3 1/2 to 4 minutes, cook until it gets golden brown.
- Makes two (mini wonder bread)chaffles.
Almond Flour Version Notes:
- To cook, takes between THREE and FOUR minutes.
- Than the coconut flour version, tastes more eggy.
- Than the coconut wonder bread recipe, the almond flour version tends to be a bit thinner.
- In the air fryer, toaster, or toaster oven, reheats nicely.
- To freeze them for later too, add them to a freezer friendly ziplock bag/container in between parchment paper.
Wonder Bread Chaffle Recipe using Coconut Flour
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon Coconut Flour
- 1 tablespoon Water
- ONE tablespoon Dukes Mayonnaise
- 1/8 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 egg
- Pinch of pink Himalayan salt
Instructions:
- In a bowl(small), mix all ingredients together.
- For about a minute, allow the batter to sit to thicken and stir it again.
- Into a mini dash waffle maker, pour half the batter and until golden brown, cook for about 2 1/2 to 3 minutes.
- Makes two (mini wonder bread)chaffles.
Coconut Flour Version Notes:
- To cook, this coconut version takes only about 2 1/2 to 3 minutes. Less time than the almond flour(version).
- Because coconut absorbs liquid more than almonds, the batter is a bit thicker and requires a bit more water than the almond flour version.
- The cooked version(does not have an eggy taste at all).
- Than the almond flour version, this wonder bread is thicker. For a juicy burger, it will hold up nicely used as a burger bun!
- No coconut taste.
